C&D WASTE
Construction and demolition (C&D) waste is generated from the construction, renovation, repair, and demolition of houses, large building structures, roads, bridges, piers, and dams. C&D waste comprises wood, steel, concrete, gypsum, plaster, metal, and asphalt.
According to the Building Material Promotion Council, India generates an estimated 150 million tonnes of C&D waste every year. But the official recycling capacity is 6,500 tonnes per day -- just about 1%. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has formulated C&D Waste Management Rules, 2016, which are an initiative to effectively tackle the issues of pollution and waste management.
At Vastum, we help in the collection, storage, transport, recycling, and discharge of C&D waste. We also help in the cleaning and removal of road and building debris in select municipal areas.
